Akhirnya, Samba Sunda!!!!!

For most of you, readers, Samba Sunda may not be familiar. Well it may not as famous as other bands from bandung like Gigi, Peterpan, or ST 12, but they have performed in so many music festival trough out the world, so they are famous!!! They play sundanesse traditional contemporary music mix with some indonesian tradiotional music like Bali's Gamelan or Padangness with traditional music instruments from indonesia, such as gamelan, suling (traditional flute), kecapi (traditional string instrument), kendang (sundanesse drum), also angklung and arumba (bamboo base instruments). For me as a sundanesse, well half sundanesse half javanesse, listening to their music is my root base. I always feel their music is a great haritage from my ancestors, their music is also mine!!!!

Although Samba Sunda has performed in many world music festival, I found hard to watch their live performance here in Bandung. My only chance was annual bamboo music festival. They always performs in this festival. I already miss 2 Samba Sunda live performance 2 years in a row. So, i didn't want to miss this year performance. I whinned to my BF so he can took me to Sabuga in the middle of raining cold night riding a motorcycle. We finally got there half wet, hungry, and ugly. I didn't care as long as I could watch Samba Sunda. Samba Sunda is very famous in Bandung music society so the organizing committee put them as last performer in 21.30, Hua that was so late!!But my beloved, kind, and amazingly patient BF agreed to wait. In the middle of my longing wait (over 2 years), my future mother in law texted her son, my BF..."Aa, please come home quickly. I got information that there will be a motorcycle gang riot tonight." What???!!!I didn't want to be cut into pieces after watch Samba Sunda!!How dare you motor gang ruining my longing wait!!!!But, we finally made it!!We watched them half amazed half anxioused because of the gang riot threatning our soul.
